I purchased the combo of H10A and G5 grinder. Had some initial hiccups in setting them up, but using fresh beans and with proper tamping, I could extract a mean cup of espresso.
The opportunity to experiment with different settings is absolutely amazing. Further, when I had issues, Shashwat from Fix Coffee, went out of his way to help me.
The entire kit is complete and is supremely useful. I am yet to use the milk foamer, but I am happy with the shots I'm pulling.
Some of my other observations:
1. The needle doesn't stabilize in the H10. It shakes vigorously. But does it impact the shots quality? Not sure
2. In my machine, the flow rate is fast. I reduced the pre-infusion time to deal with it.
3. The G5 grinder has grain retention. Spray with some water before grinding to reduce it.
But overall, I am happy with my combo.
i stumbled upon fix coffee when i was trying to find a coffee grinder. I got exactly what i was looking for at fix coffee. not just that but the thrill was the ease of ordering and delivery that i experienced with fix coffee. IN no time i placed some other orders for other coffee accessories and they were fulfilled totally to my satisfaction. This is certainly my go to place for everything coffee.
When I was shopping for an espresso machine, I narrowed my choices down to two models: the Budan Coffee Machine from Something’s Brewing and the H10A from Hibrew. Ultimately, I chose the H10A, and after using it for a month, I’m confident I made the right decision. It offers excellent features like pre-infusion and temperature customization, which allow me to tailor my coffee exactly to my taste. However, there is one drawback: the drip tray. It’s too small and poorly designed, often causing water to seep to the bottom of the machine. I hope the manufacturer addresses this issue in future models.
Grinders there are many, but finding a well-priced one that can churn out shot after shot - finely tuned so that you get a 26 second extraction on a double-shot - well, your hunt stops here.
Very compact and will serve most individuals, unless you are running a cafe or almost always entertaining a big group of friends/family.
Extremely noise friendly (my cats don't mind it at all!) and dare I say sexy looking!
A great companion to my 10A HiBrew machine and extremely well built. Everything has a robust, built-to-last premium feel to it.
A great buy!
I have always been a pour-over person - till now. Started dabbling in some serious fresh-ground coffee for some good 10 years now!
For espressos, with the lack of time, I have gone through a number of entry-level capsule machines and later an entry-level home espresso machine. They served me well for what they are built and priced at. The latter regrettably used a pressurized basket (common at that price point) and often produced a wet puck and incomplete extraction.
Also, over time, I realised I have been avoiding Cappuccinos for a while. Without a machine that produced a serious extraction of double espresso and a really good frother, I would not touch one.
Even in cafes, including the big brands, I would almost always avoid Cappuccinos - they would be invariably milky and the ratios turned topsy turvy. I think it had more to do with the "baristas" and what they were brewing for what was in demand!
Then I came across the HiBrew 10A and noticed it came with a bundle with the G5 grinder. I had been looking for an upgrade to my Timore Chestnut hand grinder as well (which I hold in high regard). Following up reviews on YouTube and the like and having been impressed with what I saw, I narrowed down on FixCoffee (fixcoffee.in) who is the dealer in India.
Both purchase and shipping were a breeze. Even though there was a little waiting period involved (being a back order), it was well worth the wait.
I was particularly impressed with the support I received over chat and phone to get my extraction right. I am hugely impressed by the HiBrew 10A which lets me fine tune my espressos and dabble with variables like pre-infusion time, temperature and the like. It is pure obsession - on overdrive. The shots are coming out just the way I want. One has to use it to believe it!
Very happy with my purchase. My beige-colored HiBrew 10A Plus is a harkback to the 50s and 60s and I so love the color - which looks vintage and modern at the same time.
