As a home brewer, I spent about a month looking for a variable temperature electric gooseneck kettle. I came across the MHW brand, which had great reviews on Reddit, particularly for its build quality. I also reached out to Shashwat to learn more about the brand, which gave me additional confidence to go ahead with the purchase.
I finally pulled the trigger on the Assassin electric kettle—and I’m extremely satisfied with it. The build quality is excellent, and the temperature control works reliably. It did take me around 10 brews to get a feel for the pour control, but once I did, it’s been smooth and consistent.
One minor issue I’ve noticed is with the base fitting—it’s not perfectly aligned. The base extends slightly beyond the kettle body on one side, which leaves the opposite side slightly exposed. It's a cosmetic detail, but worth noting.
Overall, aside from the fitting issue, I'm very happy with this kettle and would recommend it to other home brewers looking for a reliable and well-built option.
Its glass is crystal clear and as mentioned, the double walls provide a burn-free grip when held from the bottom. But I'm not happy with the inner bottom contour. Notice the inner bottom tip with the coffee doesn't have a perfect curvature as shown in the images. That's a downside for me else I'd given it 5 stars.
Great product with good finish and a good heft in a small product. Highly accurate and sensitive, as easily measures even a single coffee bean. Now the only thing needs to be seen is the longevity of the product. Highly recommended....
The grinder is lovely, I had reviews about the grounding but it comes with an adapter so no need to worry about that. Super quiet, does its job, love the feel of it. Not sure about all the other features and their effectiveness. The body looks and feels solid but it already has a dent I dont know from what. In this budget, pretty difficult to beat.
